Helicopter affiliated to Samsun Coast Guard Black Sea Regional Command, Sinop 72. The fire was intervened together with the fishing vessels under the coordination of the th Coast Guard Boat Command and Sinop Port Authority. It was learned that there were 17 crew on board, and 13 crew members, 1 seriously injured and 3 lightly injured, were rescued by the first responders.The captain of the ship is considered to have lost his life. The fire still continues in the cabins (living area) of the ship, and the rescue efforts for the remaining 3 crew are continuing.”UPDATEThe General Directorate of Maritime Affairs announced that the extinguishing works were started as of 06:45 this morning.The statement made on the social media account of the Directorate is as follows;”As of 06:45, an intervention was started on the Beata ship for cooling with a tugboat equipped with extinguishing equipment. The ship, which was not crewed, drifted for about 15 miles and reached the Gerze offshore, and the details of the rescue plan will be clarified during the day with the ship’s authorities. Although there is no sign of fire outside the ship, the missing Search and rescue activity continues for a ship’s crew.”
