Cosco Shipping will discontinue this month a direct connection between the island of Hainan (southern China), the Cambodian port of Sihanoukville and the Vietnamese port of Da Nang. This is part of the adjustment of its CV3 service covering Southern China – Vietnam – Cambodia.

“The CV3 service had only incorporated Sihanoukville and Da Nang into its rotation in June, which allowed the Chinese operator direct access between Hainan, Cambodia and Da Nang,” Alphaliner noted.

With the removal of these ports, the revised CV3 service will operate on a weekly rotation with the 1,803 TEU Jin Ji Yuan vessel, calling at Yangpu, Ho Chi Minh and again Yangpu.

“However, Cosco Shipping will continue to connect southern China with Sihanoukville via its RBC2 service covering Central and Southern China – Thailand – Cambodia, offered in partnership with RCL,” the consultancy said.

“Likewise, Cosco Shipping maintains the connection between southern China and Da Nang through its CVX1 loop covering Southern China – Southern and Central Vietnam,” it concluded.
