The Santos Port Authority (APS) warns about the irregular use of its brand to apply scams using the WhatsApp application. Fraudsters have been offering non-existent job openings. APS only hires through public examinations.
The scam is relatively simple: the person who wants to apply for the job opening – which does not exist – must pay for the supposed recruiter to issue a criminal background certificate, so that the registration can be completed.
The amount is about R$ 30 reais and, in addition to the loss of money, the victim is left with the frustration of there being no job and the shame of having been deceived.
APS reinforces the information that it does not offer job openings via whatsapp. The selection of direct workers is done through public examinations, that of outsourced workers through companies hired by bidding, and that of interns and apprentices through an agreement, and there is never any kind of financial charge.
