The “Glenda Meryl” has a gross tonnage of 47,200 tonnes and was built in 2011
The company d’Amico International Shipping S.A. (DIS) announces that its operating subsidiary d’Amico Tankers D.A.C. has signed an agreement for the sale of the MT Glenda Meryl, an ‘MR’ with a gross tonnage of 47,200 tonnes, built in 2011 at Hyundai Mipo (South Korea), for a total amount of US$ 19.5 million, with delivery to the buyers expected by the end of December 2025.
Thanks to this agreement, d’Amico Tankers will divest the oldest vessel within its fleet, generating approximately $14.5 million in cash, net of commissions and the repayment of the existing bank debt. To date, the DIS fleet comprises 31 double-hull tankers (MR, Handysize and LR1, of which 29 owned vessels and 2 bareboat chartered), with an average age of the owned and bareboat chartered vessels of approximately 9.7 years.

With this transaction, together with the sale of two of its sister vessels during the year, the share of ‘eco-design’ vessels in our total fleet will reach 93% by the end of 2025. This result represents a significant step in the implementation of our strategy, which aims at managing a modern and fuel-efficient fleet, supporting both our sustainability and profitability objectives”.
