The Port of Acajutla, managed by Yilport’s subsidiary, Unión Portuaria del Pacífico (UPdP), moved 29,430 twenty-foot containers in September, which -for the company- consolidates operational results over the last three months.
“In September, our terminal reached the highest figure of TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit) moved in its history: 29,430 TEUs, consolidating three consecutive months of outstanding performance. In July, 25,726 TEUs were recorded and in August 26,644 TEUs, showing sustained growth that reflects the commitment of our team and the efficiency of our operations,” stated UPdP in a communiqué disseminated on its social media.
“These results are part of the continuous process of modernization and operational expansion in the context of national port development. The incorporation of new equipment strengthened the port’s installed capacity and improved service times, while the enabling of new container reception areas optimizes logistics and streamlines daily operations,” added the Salvadoran port operator.
“These improvements in equipment and infrastructure are complemented by a technical training program aimed at operational personnel, focused on the safe handling of cargo, totaling more than 2,000 hours of training. Thanks to this, we strengthen alliances with our clients and move forward to consolidate ourselves as a modern and reference terminal in the region,” concluded the company.
