Recently, Jiangnan Shipbuilding’s project “Construction of a Large Intelligent Shipyard Based on Digital Technology R&D and Production Collaboration” passed the review organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and five other ministries and commissions, winning the 2025 Excellence-level Smart Factory honor.
The Excellence-level Smart Factory is a smart factory recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly with five departments including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the National Data Administration as having a domestically leading level. It requires the intelligent manufacturing maturity model to reach level 3 or above and to achieve comprehensive intelligence in five aspects: factory construction, R&D design, production operations, production management, and operational management.
This recognition as an Excellence-level Smart Factory signifies that Jiangnan Shipbuilding’s overall strength in the field of digital transformation and intelligent manufacturing technology has received authoritative certification. It has achieved significant results in key technical indicators, industry driving effects, promotion of intelligent manufacturing solutions, and talent cultivation, reflecting Jiangnan Shipbuilding’s outstanding progress in developing new quality productive forces. It has reached a leading level in the domestic industry and received high recognition from the government and within the industry.
In recent years, aiming to build a digital-intelligent shipyard, Jiangnan Shipbuilding has systematically promoted the integration of digitalization and intelligence around the five key links of factory construction, R&D design, production operations, production management, and operational management. The enterprise has built an intelligent manufacturing system with its own core technologies, achieving demonstration applications in high-end ship types such as LNG carriers and container ships, thereby promoting the intelligent transformation of the shipbuilding industry. This has received high recognition from the MIIT review expert panel, which confirmed that it meets the standard requirements for an “Excellence-level Smart Factory”.
In the next stage, Jiangnan Shipbuilding will focus on the requirements for transitioning from the Excellence level to the Pilot-level Smart Factory. It will identify key gaps and typical scenarios, formulate攻坚 plans for technological innovation, process optimization, and resource integration, actively explore future manufacturing models, lead fundamental changes in industrial models and enterprise forms, and strive to build a Pilot-level Smart Factory.
