The port of Málaga has celebrated the second edition of the Málaga Fruit Day event at the International University of Andalusia, a meeting that brought together logistics operators, shipping lines, and representatives of the fruit and vegetable sector. The objective of the event was to provide first-hand knowledge of the port facility’s infrastructure and services dedicated to the import and export of agri-food products, mainly fruits and vegetables.
José Moyano, director of the Port Authority, welcomed and inaugurated the event, during which a system they are installing was also presented. This system improves the port’s operability and is now also being made available to clients, offering them the possibility to track the traceability of their goods, thus providing transparency and peace of mind in their daily operations and demonstrating that digitalization is a fundamental axis for the Port Authority.
Subsequently, a round table was held under the slogan ‘Challenges and opportunities of the port of Málaga as an entry point to Europe,’ and the event concluded with a visit to the port facilities and a networking session. In this way, Málaga Fruit Day has served to continue the contacts generated at the international Fruit Attraction fair and transfer them to the port facility itself, reinforcing the positioning of Málaga as a benchmark logistics hub for the sector.
