Recently, Malaysia International Shipping Corporation (MISC) announced that it held a naming ceremony for two 174,000 cubic meter next-generation LNG carriers, “Seri Dian” and “Seri Dayang”, at Hanwha Ocean in South Korea.

The addition of these two LNG carriers further solidifies the long-term partnership between MISC and SeaRiver Maritime LLC (SRM), a wholly owned subsidiary of ExxonMobil. The new vessels are equipped with a range of intelligent and energy-saving technologies, including the Intelligent Control Exhaust Gas Recirculation (ICER) system and an enhanced cargo containment system, to reduce boil-off rate, improve operational efficiency, and ensure safer navigation.

MISC Group President and Chief Executive Officer Zahid Osman stated: “The naming of ‘Seri Dian’ and ‘Seri Dayang’ marks another significant step for MISC in realizing its ‘Delivering Progress’ strategy. This achievement stems from our commitment to disciplined growth and operational excellence in safe, reliable, and efficient energy transportation. Our partnership with SeaRiver Maritime is a prime example of this philosophy. Built on a foundation of high trust and outstanding performance, this collaboration demonstrates how purpose-driven cooperation can transform a shared vision into tangible results. The project has progressed smoothly, achieving a cumulative 2 million safe man-hours as of March 30, 2026, while maintaining a record of zero lost time incidents.”

With the addition of “Seri Dian” and “Seri Dayang” to its fleet, MISC now has four LNG carriers serving SeaRiver Maritime under long-term time charter agreements, reflecting the client’s continued trust in MISC’s safe, reliable, and efficient operational capabilities.

Including the latest two vessels, the number of LNG carriers operated by MISC’s fleet has increased to 32, further consolidating its position as a leading global LNG carrier owner and operator, renowned for top-tier safety standards, operational excellence, and reliable delivery performance.
