On July 10, Lianyungang Port achieved a “double success” in external market orders for pure electric tugboat construction. The largest-horsepower pure electric tugboat in the Greater Bay Area, “Shen Gang Dian Tuo 1,” officially commenced operations at Shenzhen Port, while the nation’s first ice-strengthened pure electric tugboat, “Bo Gang Dian Tuo 1,” was successfully launched at Lianyungang’s Pure Electric Tugboat Industrial Demonstration Base.
“Shen Gang Dian Tuo 1” embodies the concentrated technical strength and service system of Lianyungang Port. During trial runs, its speed, towing capacity, noise, and vibration levels all exceeded design requirements. Its deployment will provide another green engine for the Greater Bay Area.
The construction of “Bo Gang Dian Tuo 1” highlights the advantages of Lianyungang Port’s customized pure electric tugboat services. To address the long winter ice periods and complex sea conditions in the Bohai Bay, the construction team introduced an “ice-strengthened” hull structure for the first time, expanding the application scenarios for pure electric tugboats.
