The container ship ONE Henry Hudson arrived late Wednesday evening local time at the Port of Los Angeles. This occurred after the fire on board was brought so much under control that the risk of the fire flaring up again is very small.
Salvage crews together with port workers have begun emptying the ship of containers, in order to create an overview of the damage on board, and the damage to the individual containers.
No people were injured in the fire, which broke out Friday evening local time, and spread to around 100 containers after an explosion.
According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by a fault in the electrical system.
The 16-year-old container ship, which has a capacity of 8,212 TEU, had arrived in Los Angeles on November 19th from Tokyo. The ONE Henry Hudson is registered in Panama.
