In July 2025, the Port of New York-New Jersey handled 794,268 TEUs, achieving the second busiest July in its history. The total was 1.5% lower than the same month in 2024 and an increase of 19.8% compared to July 2019.
From January to July 2025, the US terminal moved 5,211,550 TEUs. This figure represented an increase of 3.9% compared to the same period in 2024 and 20.1% over the same seven months in 2019 (pre-pandemic).
The Port of New York-New Jersey maintained its solid performance during the first seven months of the year, remaining the second busiest US port in loaded TEUs.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey also announced that its commercial airports increased their activity in July 2025, recording the second busiest July in their history, with 13.3 million passengers; that the PATH commuter rail system remained steady, at 74% of pre-pandemic volume, representing a 9% growth in the number of passengers in July 2025 compared to July 2024; and that the agency’s vehicle crossings showed solid volume, consistent with that of 2024 and 2019.
