PortosRio expects arrival of Scenic Eclipse to inaugurate cruise season

The /2026 cruise season at the Port of Rio de Janeiro begins this Saturday, October 11th with the arrival of the expedition ship Scenic Eclipse.

The last ship recorded in the PortosRio reservations is scheduled for April 20, 2026.

There will be 84 dockings and 28 vessels, 21 with international routes and seven with national itineraries. The initial expectation is that 240,000 visitors will pass through the Port of Rio de Janeiro Cruise Terminal by the end of the season.

Meanwhile, it is announced that two ships will make their first call at the terminal, the Vista and the Borealis.

Among the most notable vessels are the MSC Preziosa, which will arrive on October 25th with a capacity for 4,345 passengers, and the MSC Seaview, with 5,429, the highest figure this year. Carnival also promises to boost activity at the port, with seven units docking between February 13th and 16th.

The new season reinforces the importance of the Port of Rio de Janeiro as one of the main gateways for tourism to the country. PortosRio emphasizes that the reservations confirm the commitment to operational efficiency, safety, and quality of passenger services, directly contributing to the strengthening of tourism and the state’s economy.
