Katoen Natie, majority shareholder and operator of the Terminal Cuenca del Plata (TCP), announced the full resumption of its operational activities as of 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, which occurs after the TCP-Nelsury union concluded its assembly.
The general reactivation, which particularly affected the community of land transporters, was resolved following the conclusion of two deliberative sessions called Serious and Urgent Assemblies with a binding nature by the union, as communicated by the entity that is part of the multinational business group of Belgian origin.
With the aim of mitigating the logistical repercussions arising from the operational stoppage, the terminal’s management set up a digital platform for transporters to verify in real time the status of Access A for trucks.
Likewise, the company reported that it keeps its telephone and electronic service channels active through its Customer Service Department to coordinate the contingency and guarantee the continuity of the port facility’s supply chain.
It is worth mentioning that the TCP-Nelsury union groups together the workers of Nelsury S.A., a third-party logistics and operational services company that performs key tasks within TCP, at the Port of Montevideo, Uruguay.
The union counts among its ranks mooring workers, stevedores, machinery operators and maintenance personnel; it is also affiliated with the Sindicato Único Portuario y Ramas Afines (Supra).
