Valenciaport records in October an increase in exports of 11.7%

Valenciaport’s export container traffic during October reflects an increase of nearly 11.7% compared to the same period last year. A total of 492,772 containers were handled by the terminals, of which 85,961 contained cargo destined for export.

The Statistics Office of the Valencia Port Authority (APV) recorded that the traffic in its offices in Valencia, Sagunto, and Gandia during the month amounted to 6,128,740 tons, which represents a decrease of just over one point (1.25%) compared to the previous month. In contrast, the traffic recorded in TEUs experienced a growth of 4.46%, as evidenced by the previous figures.

So far this year, Valenciaport has moved a total of 67,171,486 tons of goods, reflecting a slight decrease compared to 2024 (-1.12%). This is not the case for container traffic, which amounted to 4,779,759 units, 3.74% more than the previous year.

From a year-on-year perspective, Valenciaport has handled 79,903,482 tons (-0.85%); and in the containerized goods category, the Valencian terminals have mobilized 5,647,910 TEUs in the last year (+4.47%).

Since January 2025, regular line and cruise passengers have represented a total figure of 1,468,748 people (+0.60%). The largest increase occurs in the former, which grew by 1.75% and stand at 741,859, while cruise passengers decreased by 0.55% and remain at 726,889.

The month of October, for its part, has registered new growth in regular line passengers, who numbered 56,649 (+12.5%), while the number of cruise tourists has been reduced by 16.18% compared to the previous month, remaining at 93,848 people.

Once again, China leads Valenciaport’s foreign trade, with 7,448,835 tons (+12.57%) and 702,248 TEUs (+18.94%). Second in the ranking is Italy with 5,680,488 tons, although the volume of goods in traffic with this country fell by 2.3%.

The United States, with 314,955 containers (+1.22%), is the second most relevant destination in TEUs, followed by Algeria, with 269,423 (+32.64%).
