To meet operational demands, Yang Ming Marine Transport and Wan Hai Lines have recently expanded their container fleets.

According to the announcement, Yang Ming Marine Transport took delivery of 22,750 containers previously ordered from China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd. (CIMC) and 17,650 containers ordered from Guangdong Fuwa Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., totaling 40,400 containers with a combined value of $110–120 million.

Meanwhile, Wan Hai Lines recently leased 5,500 containers from the container leasing company SeaCube Containers LLC, with a total value of approximately $36 million.

In addition to this lease, Wan Hai Lines also announced at the end of May that it had placed an order for 48,000 new containers, worth around $120 million.

During its second-quarter investor conference, Yang Ming Marine Transport stated that it plans to gradually increase the proportion of owned containers while phasing out older units to enhance operational competitiveness.
