The Port of Suape, in Brazil, renewed its autonomy for the competencies of bidding and contract management for port area leases.

After the entire renewal process, the Power Delegation Agreement was amended and published in the Official Diary of the Union.

The document was signed by the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, with the intervention of the National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq), and confirms the continuity of the power delegation by the Port Authority of Pernambuco.

“With this renewal, Suape maintains the essential competencies linked to leases, such as carrying out bidding procedures for the assignment of areas and facilities within the perimeter of the organized port, in addition to the management and inspection of lease contracts,” said the CEO of Suape, Armando Monteiro Bisneto.

To win the extension, the state port company met a series of governance, technical, and administrative criteria required by the federal government, demonstrating efficiency in management, transparency in processes, and the capacity to execute the powers delegated to the Port Authority.

“The autonomy strengthens planning capacity, attracts new investments, and guarantees more agility and transparency in the processes that drive the economic and logistical development of Pernambuco,” added Monteiro Bisneto.
