Initiative undertaken with the goal of reducing harmful emissions in the logistics chains passing through the German port

With the goal of reducing harmful emissions in the logistics chains passing through the port, the terminal operating company Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (Hhla), which manages the main container terminals of the port of Hamburg, announces that it has implemented a measure to facilitate the use of electric trucks in its facilities.

Since mid-November, the company has introduced into the slot booking system for terminal access a new category reserved for electric trucks, which eliminates the obligation to adhere to a specific time slot.

The trial phase will last until mid-2026 and allows transport companies to book a slot valid for the entire day, overcoming the constraint of one-hour intervals that apply to conventional vehicles. The formula takes into account the charging cycles and scheduling needs of electric fleets
