Yantai Port, belonging to the Shandong Port Group (SPG), has established its second integrated Ro-Ro passenger terminal with intelligent load and photovoltaic storage control.
The Longkou Ro-Ro passenger terminal recently received carbon neutrality certification from the China Classification Society Certification Company.
This project represents the latest milestone for Yantai Port in promoting sustainable development through technological innovation as part of its “dual carbon” strategy. The terminal features a 3.25 MW rooftop photovoltaic system, distributed across four warehouses and the passenger terminal, in addition to four “sunflower” photovoltaic systems in the station plaza.
Combined with a 0.25 MW/0.5 MWh photovoltaic carport and energy storage facilities, the installation guarantees a stable power supply to 13 charging stations, the terminal building, the grounding system, and lighting.
The energy and carbon management and control system implemented at the terminal acts as an “intelligent brain,” enabling real-time monitoring and intelligent regulation of energy consumption. This ensures the traceability of every kilowatt-hour of electricity and the precise measurement of every emission reduction measure.
Since its grid connection in June, the project has generated 1.9 million kWh of electricity, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1200 metric tons. This initiative not only offers convenient green charging for passengers but also marks a new step forward for Yantai Port in green energy.
